Overview

This public university with its roots in the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine has expanded and was renamed in 2006 and offers Veterinary Science in English. It is situated close to the river and within walking distance of the town centre. The architecture of Wroclaw the capital of Lower Silesia in western Poland just north of the Sudety Mountains and about 90km from the Czech border reflects its political past. Bohemian Austrian and Prussian influences can be seen in the buildings. On the River Odra (Oder) it boasts twelve islands including the Cathedral Island with its gothic cathedral and 130 bridges. The Town Hall with its astronomical clock in the beautifully reconstructed market square is at the heart of cultural centre and student city with its very good international rail and air links.
