The college is situated in Birkenhead on the Wirral Peninsula on the west bank of the river Mersey opposite the great cultural and vibrant city of Liverpool on the east bank in the northwest of England. It is about 5km to Liverpool city centre by road or rail. Transport links to other parts of the country and overseas are excellent. The college has its roots in the Arts School founded in 1855 and today offers creative degree courses and some foundation degree courses, mainly at the Twelve Quays Campus in Birkenhead. Degree courses are generally validated by Chester University.
