Overview

Founded in 1702 by Leopold I Habsburg this public research university was re-established after WWII in 1945. It offers a number of Bachelor courses in English including in Chemistry Business and Administration Biotechnology and more. The architecture of Wroclaw the capital of Lower Silesia in western Poland just north of the Sudety Mountains and about 90km from the Czech border reflects its political past. Bohemian Austrian and Prussian influences can be seen in the buildings. On the River Odra (Oder) it boasts twelve islands including the Cathedral Island with its gothic cathedral and 130 bridges. The Town Hall with its astronomical clock in the beautifully reconstructed market square is at the heart of cultural centre and student city with its very good international rail and air links.
