The first in the UK, the Royal Polytechnic Institution was founded in 1838. In 1992 the college was granted university status and today has four campuses in London. Cavendish , Marylebone and Regent are all right in the centre and Harrow in northwest London is 20 minutes from Baker Street by underground. Marylebone is home to Architecture, the Built Environment and Business; Cavendish to Science, Engineering and Computing; Regent to Social Sciences and Humanities and Harrow to Media, Arts and Design.
