University of Warsaw

Overview

Established in 1816 this is the largest Polish university. It is proud of its five 20th century Nobel Laureates and its historic main building which is close to the old town. The university offers a number of Bachelor courses in English including Political Science Psychology and Journalism. Warsaw suffered great destruction in WWII and the varied architecture reflects its turbulent past. The beautifully restored old town and market square with its pastel buildings contrast with communist concrete and modern steel and glass buildings. Today it is a vibrant and lively city of culture with excellent transport links.
