Overview

UWTSD was formed in 2010 when The University of Wales Lampeter (in southwest Wales 74km from Swansea) and Trinity University College Carmarthen (45km northwest of Swansea) merged under Lampeter’s Royal Charter, granted in 1828. In 2013 Swansea Metropolitan University became a constituent member of UWTSD. The Welsh International Academy of Voice in Cardiff is also a member. Lampeter specialises in Humanities and Performing Arts and Earl Years Education is taught in Carmarthen. The pretty, historic town of Lampeter in Ceredigion is 40km from Aberystwyth from where there are good transport links. Carmarthen is a small historic town with a good rail link to Swansea.
