Overview

UVic began as Victoria College in 1903 and was awarded degree-granting status in 1963. It is a major Canadian research university, which offers a wide range of bachelor programs. Consistently ranked as one of Canada’s top universities, its Varsity Athletics program is one of the best in Canada. The bike friendly and walkable campus is situated on the southern edge of Vancouver Island, 15 minutes from downtown Victoria, which boasts the warmest winters in Canada. Victoria is on the southwestern tip of Canada. It is a city of old world charm with its 19th century buildings and new world experiences. Outdoor activities include all kinds of water sports and whale-watching. Victoria boasts more cycle routes than any other Canadian city. It is well connected by air, boat to Seattle and Vancouver, and bus.
