Overview

This state institution is one of the oldest veterinary schools in the world and the only one in Hungary. It is housed in impressive 19th century buildings and its garden is an oasis of green amongst the city buildings. The school is situated on the right bank of the Danube in the city centre which was once a green area and the edge of the city. It now has a Field Station 30km from the city for its large animal clinic. The English language programme was instituted in 1992 and the qualifications were accredited in 1995 by E.A.E.V.E. The great capital city of Budapest is bisected by the Danube; the old city of Buda on Castle Hill is connected to the grand 19th century development of Pest by a magnificent chain bridge. The city is called the pearl of the Danube and has good transport links and an international airport.
