Overview

The first of the new wave of UK universities, Sussex was granted its Royal Charter in 1961. The campus is situated on the northern edge of the seaside town of Brighton and the award winning buildings, designed by Sir Basil Spence, are set in beautiful rolling parkland surrounded by the South Downs. Brighton, famous for its arts scene, nightlife and much more, is on the south coast of England and has very good transport links to London and Gatwick Airport. The university offers a broad range of courses and in the QS rankings 2016 it was number 2 in the world for Development Studies.
