The first of the new wave of UK universities, Sussex was granted its Royal Charter in 1961. The campus is situated on the northern edge of the seaside town of Brighton and the award winning buildings, designed by Sir Basil Spence, are set in beautiful rolling parkland surrounded by the South Downs.
