Overview

The city is situated on the south coast close to the New Forest with excellent road, rail, sea and air links. With its waterfront and maritime heritage Southampton is one of the UK’s greenest cities. The main campus is north of the city centre and the university owned bus service provides students with transport across the city. The excellent sporting facilities include an unrivalled range of watersports. Year long industrial placements are now available to many engineering students and Ship Science, a maritime engineering course, is unique to Southampton University.
