Founded in 1977 and granted university status in 1983 this small university offers Bachelor programmes in Biomedicine and Bioscience – Molecular Biodesign – in English. Skövde a small town with a friendly atmosphere in southern Sweden lies between the two largest lakes in Sweden Vänern and Vättern. The town is partly built on the slopes of Mount Billingen (304m) where in winter there are skiing and winter sports and in summer walking and hiking. It is an area known for its beautiful landscapes. Gothenburg on the coast is about 155km to the Southwest just over an hour by train. Gothenburg has an international airport.
