Overview

The Technical College was founded in 1924 and after amalgamation with other colleges it became Nene College in 1975. In 2005 the university was granted full university status and today offers a range of courses including HND’s, Foundation, Top Ups and Honours’ degrees. Many of the courses are applied and some are quite specialised, for example as Northampton is an important centre of the footwear industry it has developed degrees in Footwear and Accessories and Leather for Fashion. Northampton is located in the southeast Midlands of England close to the north- south motorway M1 and with good rail links to Birmingham and London.
