Founded in 1785 this is one of the oldest universities in North America. UNB has two campuses, the larger in Fredericton and the Saint John campus in Saint John. A broad range of undergraduate programs is offered on both campuses, for example engineering, but some subjects at one or the other. Radiography is only available at Saint John. Saint John with its industrial smoke stacks is a historic and dynamic port city on the north shore of the Bay of Fundy at the mouth of the St John River. It is most famous for the Reversing Rapids which occur at high tide. The collision between the incoming tidal waters and the river forces the water to flow dramatically upstream. Stonehammer UNESCO Geopark with its rock formations ranging billions of years is close by. There is an International airport and a ferry link to Nova Scotia.
