Overview

Founded in 1785 this is one of the oldest universities in North America. UNB has two campuses, the larger in Fredericton and the Saint John campus in Saint John. A broad range of undergraduate programs is offered, in engineering subjects on both campuses but, Environmental and Natural Resources is only offered at Fredericton and Radiography is only available at Saint John. The campus overlooks the St John River Valley in the town. Fredericton, the provincial capital, is built on the banks of the St John River, which curves through the small city. Paths and playing fields run along its tree-lined banks. Fredericton with its Georgian and Victorian architecture and art gallery is one of the Cultural Capitals of Canada. In summer there are water sports including kayaking, walking and hiking and in winter skating and cross-country skiing. Situated in the south eastern corner of Canada, Fredericton has an international airport with direct flights to New York and London U.K.
