Overview

This is the oldest medical education institution in Transylvania in central Romania. It has been offering Medicine in English since 1997 and now also offers Dentistry and Pharmacy in English. Medical students are expected to speak Romanian by the fourth year of studies. It is situated in Cluj which has a large student quarter characterised by its book shops cafés and bohemian open air bars. The town has some interesting old buildings and is within reach of the medieval towns and castles of Transylvania including Bran Castle. The Carpathian Mountains offer both hiking and skiing opportunities. It is served by a small international airport and has a good rail service and road network.
