Leicester is situated in the Midlands in the heart of England. It has excellent transport links by road, rail and air in all directions and is 1hour 30minutes by train from London. On the one hand it is home to Britain’s most multi-cultural high street and on the other the historic city where the bones of Richard III were unearthed from under a car park. The university was founded in 1921 as a living memorial and a beacon of hope after the carnage of the First World War. The compact campus is south of the city centre adjacent to Victoria Park and has a vibrant Arts Centre and very good sporting facilities. Traditional and modern applied courses, for example a degree in Translation and Interpreting, are offered.
