In 1992 Thames Polytechnic was granted university status and renamed Greenwich University. In 2002 the main campus relocated to the magnificent grounds of the Royal Naval College, south of the river in East London and close to Greenwich Park with the Royal Observatory. The Avery Hill campus (Bexleyheath) is home to the Faculty of Education and Health and the Medway campus at Chatham (the old Royal Dockyard) at the mouth of the Medway in Kent houses the Engineering and Science faculty. Accommodation is guaranteed to first year undergraduate students (conditions apply) and there are priority places for students with disabilities or special circumstances. Many of the courses are applied, for example Financial Mathematics, Hospitality and Events Management and many more. Transport links to all campuses are good.
