Founded in 1977 this university offers some Master’ programmes and one Bachelor course Social Work in English. International fee paying students are guaranteed accommodation initially. The campus is close to the river and the Boulogner Forest. Gävle is situated 171km north of Stockholm two hours by train. The lively town is Norrland’s oldest and was founded in 1446. In the 19th century the export of timber created its wealth and it is a major Baltic port. Today it is proud of its vibrant culinary scene. Road and rail links are very good.
