Founded in 1538 the university is situated in Debrecen the capital of the Great Plain in the East of Hungary close to a National Park and the Great Forest. The city was synonymous with wealth and has some fine buildings. It is 231km east of Budapest and is served by a small international airport. It offers a number of degrees in English including in Business Administration Dentistry Medicine Physiotherapy and Pharmacy. Medical students are expected to learn basic Hungarian.
