Founded in 1209 Cambridge is the second oldest university in the English-speaking world. There are 29 autonomous colleges,which select and admit the students. They live in the colleges and have their supervisions there. The university faculties organise teaching and the university awards the degrees. Although entry is very competitive 80% of applicants are interviewed.There are pre-interview or at-interview written assessments for most undergraduate courses. All applications must be submitted through UCAS by 15th October in the year before the course begins.
