Overview

With its roots in the Mechanics Institute, founded in 1824, Bolton was granted university status in 2005. It offers a broad range of courses in academic and vocational subjects, including a number of professionally accredited qualifications. HND/C’s, foundation and honours degrees are taught. The compact campus is situated in the bustling town of Bolton on the edge of the West Pennine Moors in northwest England. It is 19km northwest of the great city of Manchester and has excellent transport links. It is home to Bolton One, a new health, leisure and research centre which also serves the local community.
