UCS, founded in 2007, became the independent University of Suffolk in 2016. Its main waterfront campus is in Ipswich, but there are also sites inland in West Suffolk at Bury St Edmunds and further north on the coast at Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth. It offers a range of courses including HND/C’s, foundation, top up and honours degrees. There are two faculties: The Faculty of Arts and Business and The Faculty of Applied Social Science, Health, Science and Technology. Ipswich is situated on the estuary of the river Orwell on the east coast of England and 96km northeast of London with good road and rail links. The city has a lively arts scene and the Wolsey Art Gallery with its fine collection of works by John Constable. The beautiful Suffolk coast is within easy reach.
