Université Sainte-Anne

Overview

This is the only tertiary institution on Nova Scotia to offer French speaking courses. It has five campuses, the main one at Point-de-l’Église and then at Halifax, Tusket, Petit-de-Grat and Saint-Joseph-du-Moine. The university offers a range of baccalauréat (1er cycle) programs and has a departement d’immersion français for non-native speakers. Point-de-l’Église is in the Acadian region of western Nova Scotia and is situated on the Baie Sainte-Marie. The university is home to the Rendez-vous de la baie, an information centre for the culture and heritage of Acadians (first French settlers) of Clare. The town is also known for having the tallest wooden church. It is 267km north of the provincial capital, Halifax, with its airport. Ferries to St John N.B. run from Digby, 44km to the north.
