Founded in 1963 this is the largest Canadian French speaking university outside Québec. It has campuses in Moncton, Edmundston and Shippagan and offers a range of baccalauréat (1er cycle) programs, including cooperative courses, which combine academic studies with work placements. The spacious green campus is situated on the edge of Moncton in south eastern New Brunswick. The province is bilingual. Once a major wooden ship building port, today the growing economy is based on transportation and call centres. Moncton has a small, redbrick downtown on the banks of the Petitcodiac River. Southeast New Brunswick is a flat coastal plain, which is cut by tidal rivers and salt marshes. Moncton has an international airport with regular daily flights to Toronto and Montréal.
