Established in 1998 this university has campuses in several towns and offers Medicine in English in Bergamo. The teaching is based on problem based learning and is run in partnership with the University of Surrey. Bergamo is about 55km north-east of Milano. The old town (Città Alta) with its narrow medieval streets and buildings is on a hilltop and is connected to the modern city by a funicular. Bergamo has a small airport but is within easy reach of Milan’s International Airport.
