University of West London

Overview

With its roots in 1860 the university has undergone many changes and the merger of various educational establishments has resulted in several name changes. Granted university status in 1992 as Thames Valley University it became UWL in 2010. The main campuses are in Ealing and Brentford in West London and the Berkshire Institute for Health is in Reading, which is about 30 minutes by main line train to London Paddington. Ealing and Brentford are on the London Transport System and the campuses are within walking distance of each other. A wide range of courses at foundation and honours’ degree level is offered, many of which are applied or vocational. Some courses, for example Nursing, may be available on more than one site.
