Overview

Stirling is situated in the central belt of Scotland where the Lowlands and the Highlands meet, 64km northwest of Edinburgh and 48km northeast of Glasgow. This compact city has excellent transport links. The university granted its Royal Charter in 1967, was the first new university in Scotland for over 400 years. Its beautiful 330 acre campus with a loch and castle is 5km from the centre in the shadow of the Ochi Hills. It is Scotland’s centre for sporting excellence and offers a broad range of courses, many with a modern slant, for example Environmental Geography and Global Cinema.
