Overview

Sheffield was granted its Royal Charter in 1905 and to-day offers a very broad range of courses, including the study of Polish and Czech. The campus is close to the city centre and only 8km from the Peak District National Park. Sheffield with its proximity to the hills is often described as a great outdoors city. It is also a cultural centre and home to the well-known Crucible Theatre. The university is proud of its reputation for a community atmosphere and social life for which it gained first place in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2015 and 2016. Situated in the north of England in South Yorkshire Sheffield has very good road, rail and air links.
