The city of Nottingham lies in the north of the East Midlands in the heart of England. A lively, student friendly city with a thriving arts’ scene, once famous for Raleigh bicycles and lace-making, it was named Home of English Sport in 2015. It is home to the National Ice Centre. The university College was founded in 1881 and was awarded its Royal Charter in 1948. The main 300 acre green University Park is within walking distance of the city centre. A broad range of traditional single and joint Honors’ degree courses sits alongside more unusual combinations, for example German with Contemporary Chinese or Physics with a European Language. The university also has campuses in China and Malaysia. Nottingham has an excellent transport system and very good road rail and air links.
