University of Gloucestershire

Overview

This new university has three campuses- two in Cheltenham and one in Gloucester. Both towns are situated in the west of England and connected by a fast train (a 10 minute journey). Cheltenham is a Regency spa town on the edge of the Cotswolds, best known for its racecourse and cultural festivals. Gloucester has a beautiful medieval cathedral. The Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty, are within easy reach. There are good road and rail links. The university offers about 100 undergraduate courses including Foundation level and Top Ups. Many of the courses have a strong practical and vocational element, for example the new degree in Policing.
