Overview

Colchester, Britain’s oldest recorded town, is situated in the East of England and has good road and rail links to London, just under an hour away by mainline train. The university was established in 1963 and is situated in the 18th century landscaped Wivenhoe Park, 3km from the city centre. The campus was designed as a universty town to integrate social and educational space and foster a real sense of community. It offers a broad range of courses including Human Rights for which it is one of the oldest centres in the world. Hotel Management can be studied at the Edge Hotel School, a real 4* hotel on the campus. There are subsidiary campuses at Loughton, close to London, and Southend-on-Sea, on the Thames Estuary. Loughton is a large specialist theatre school.
