The University of Edinburgh

Overview

Edinburgh, the compact, hilly capital of Scotland, is situated on the Firth of Fourth on the east coast. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and is packed with historical buildings, first-class Art Galleries, theatres and concert halls. From Arthur’s Seat, a peak in Holyrood Park, there are sweeping views of the city. The university which was founded in 1582 is in the heart of the city. It offers a full range of undergraduate courses. Most degrees are studied over four years. All eligible first year undergraduate students from outside Edinburgh are guaranteed accommodation. There are modern world-class sport, fitness and performance facilities. Edinburgh has very good road, rail and air links.
