University of Buckingham

Overview

Granted a Royal Charter in 1983 the university is the oldest of the country’s private universities and is situated in the historic county town of Buckingham, 40km northeast of Oxford and northwest of London. It is 20km west of Milton Keynes from where fast trains take about 40 minutes to London Euston. This compact campus university has a high staff-student ratio and teaching is in small tutorial groups. Buckingham pioneered 2 year honours’ degrees by adding an additional term each summer, giving the same teaching time as for traditional 3 year courses. Entry points to degree courses are flexible- three entry points each year. On campus accommodation is guaranteed to all new students.
