Overview

Granted a Royal Charter by Queen Victoria in 1900, Birmingham is the UK’s oldest campus university. The green 250 acre site is a bus ride from the main shoppng centre and the university has its own railway station. Situated in the Midlands, England’s second city has excellent road, rail and air links. Once a great manufacturing city Birmingham is still home to the car industry, but today is also known as the foodiest town in Britain according to the BBC Food Magazine. The university is regarded for its highly respected undergraduate courses and research; pacemakers and plastic heart valves were developed here.
