Overview

Situated in North East Scotland and described in Mercers Global rankings as an ideal environment in which to live and work, Aberdeen has direct trains to London, Glasgow and Edinburgh and an international airport. The university was founded in 1495 and today has two main sites, the historical city centre buildings with their modern facilities and the 21st century Foresterhall campus where the Medical and Dental faculties are housed. Aberdeen was the first university in the English speaking world to create a chair in Medicine. The Aquatics Centre with Olympic standard pool and diving facilities was opened in 2014.
