Overview

This University is the result of a merger between NHL UAS and Stenden UAS in 2018. With campuses in Emmen Groningen Leeuwarden and Meppel it offers a number of Bachelor programmes in English all with a practical component. At Leeuwarden there are nine courses including Business subjects and Leisure and Events Management; in Emmen there are four courses including Information Technology and Marketing Management. International Teacher Education is offered at Meppel. The beautiful historic city of Leeuwarden in Friesland in north-west Netherlands is home to the largest campus and is one of the least populated areas of the country. It is surrounded by lakes nature reserves and recreational areas. The city of Emmen close to the German border is a high-tech hub – it was here that Bluetooth technology was invented. Meppel is a small town with parks and canals. Road and rail links to Amsterdam and Schipol International Airport are very good.
