Staffordshire University

Overview

The Central School of Science and Technology was founded in 1914 and in 1992 the college was granted university status. The university has subsidiary campuses in Stafford, Lichfield and Shrewsbury, but the main campus is in Stoke-on-Trent, in the heart of The Potteries and today home to the Wedgwood Museum. Stoke lies between Manchester to the north (40 minutes by train) and Birmingham to the south (49 minutes by train). It has very good road links in both directions. The majority of degrees are applied and the computer courses all offer a 12 month paid industry placement and are mostly accredited by BCS. Creative courses include a degree in 3D Design.
