Saint Paul University

Overview

Established in 1848 this Roman Catholic foundation was a founding college of the University of Ottawa, with which it is federated. It is a very small graduate and undergraduate institution and offers a limited range of humanities programs, including bachelor courses in Conflict Studies, Public Ethics and Philosophy. It is a bilingual university, situated in the heart of Ottawa on the banks of the Rideau River. The city of Ottawa, the capital of Canada, was created in the 19th century and regards itself as a big city with a small town feel. It is primarily the seat of government, but boasts great museums, restaurants, shopping and a vibrant cultural life. Situated in the South of Ontario, it is picturesque with its many waterways, parks and green spaces. The historic Rideau Canal with its steep step-like locks is a UNESCO world heritage site. Lake Ontario is 200km to the South and Montreal is 200km to the East. Ottawa has an international airport.
