Established in 1940 and granted degree awarding status in 1995 this small university has a mandate to offer areas of study solely in applied and professional programs. It offers a very few bachelor courses, including in International Hotel Management and Environmental Science. The university is located in the historic Hatley Park with its 260 acres of lush parkland and castle fronting onto the ocean. It is in the picture-postcard capital city of Vancouver. Victoria is on the southwestern tip of Canada on Vancouver Island and boasts the warmest winters in Canada. It is a city of old world charm with its 19th century buildings and new world experiences.
