Established in 1996 this pubic university has four main campuses which are situated about 20km south-west of the city centre. It offers some Bachelor degrees in English mainly at the Vicalvaro campus. Biomedical Engineering is at Alcoron. Madrid with its elegant boulevards and expansive parks is home to some of the world’s greatest paintings from modern (Picasso’s Guernica and works by Dali) to the classical (Velazquez and Goya). The UNESCO world heritage cities of Segovia and Toledo are within easy reach. Madrid has excellent international transport links.
