This Medical School has been offering Medicine and Nursing in English since 1996 and Dentistry since 2006 and has 600 students in the English programme. Situated in western Pomerania in the North of Poland the port of Szczecin lies on the River Odra (Oder) and at the southern end of the Bay of Szczecin about 12 km east of the German border and 150 km from the capital Berlin. After devastating damage in WWII the centre was reconstructed and it boasts a 14th century city hall and good theatres and music. It is in a region of forests and lakes for yachting and outdoor activities. It has a ferry link to Sweden an international airport and good rail links to Berlin.
