University of Plymouth

Overview

Plymouth is situated on the beautiful south Devon coast in southwest England, close to Cornwall. Main line trains connect the city with London (384 km away) and Bristol (193km) away. Famous for its associations with historical events- the Pilgrim Fathers, Drake and the Armada- it is today a lively seaside city. The main university is a few minutes walk from the centre and there are affiliated campuses all over southwest England. It has its roots in the 19th century School of Navigation and was granted university status in 1992. Plymouth offers a wide range of courses, many of which are applied or vocational. First year undergraduates are guaranteed university managed accommodation if they make Plymouth their firm choice.
