The historic city of Oxford is situated an hour by train west of London and close to the beautiful Cotswolds. It is a bustling town and home to the oldest university in the English speaking world. Oxford Brookes has its origins in the Art College, founded in 1865, and became the Polytechnic which was granted full university status in 1992. It has a number of campuses in and around Oxford. Brookes buses link the Oxford campuses. The green and extensive Headington site is within walking distance of the city centre. The university offers a wide range of Foundation, Top Ups and Honours degrees. Many of the courses are applied and practical or vocational and it has a good reputation for employability.
