Østfold in south-east Norway was founded in 1994 with two campuses at Halden and Fredrikstad. At Fredrikstad it offers a Bachelor course in English for performance artists and scenographers in Scenography and Acting. It aims to explore the interaction between the visual arts and the theatre. International students learn Norwegian during their studies. The town is 92km to the South of the capital Oslo and was built as a fortified city in the 17th century along Dutch models with moats and ramparts. It is close to Hvaler Islands the sunniest area of Norway and a popular holiday resort with fishing bathing and sailing. Transport links are very good and Oslo has an international airport.
