Founded in 1876 and formerly called Ontario College of Art and Design, OCADU is Canada’s largest Art and Design University. It offers a broad curriculum from degrees in Drawing and Painting to Digital Painting and Expanded Animation. The multi-building urban campus with the Sharp Centre for Design – now one of Toronto’s most recognized landmarks – is situated in the heart of the city’s creative district of Grange Park. Toronto is on the south western shore of Lake Ontario and this provincial capital is the largest city in Canada. It is perhaps the most multi-culturally diverse city in the world. Half Toronto’s residents were born outside Canada. The Art Gallery of Toronto, adjacent to OCAD, houses the best collection of Canadian artworks. Cultural events include an International Film Festival and the city has some excellent restaurants and eateries. Toronto has very good transport links and is within easy reach of Niagara Falls and beautiful landscapes.
