This College of Art and Design was founded in 1887 and was the first degree granting art school in Canada. It offers bachelor programs in creative subjects with a hands on and intellectually rigorous approach. Programs include Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing and Ceramics. There are three campuses with interesting buildings from modern industrial to an interconnected row of merchants’ houses and warehouses close to the harbour in downtown Halifax. This provincial capital, is situated on the Atlantic coast and is regarded as one of the friendliest cities in the world. Haligonians (the people of Halifax) enjoy a vibrant and thriving arts, theatre, live music and culinary scene.
