Overview

Founded in 2002 but with much older roots this medical university offers Medicine in English. Its campus lies 3.5km north of the old town close to Kamzik a 439m hill with a forest and park bobsleigh run and ski lift. Bratislava the capital of Slovakia was part of the Austro Hungarian Empire for 500 years and capital of the Hungarian kingdom in the 16th century. Its cuisine reflects this multicultural past Slovak Austrian (Schnitzel) and Hungarian (Goulasch). The old city with its beautiful architecture is a stark contrast to the concrete jungle of the socialist era. It nestles between the small Carpathian Mountains to the North and the Danube to the South and has excellent transport links: riverboat rail and road and an airport with the larger international airport of Vienna 60km away. The capital cities of Budapest Prague and Vienna are all within easy reach.
