Overview

Inaugurated in 2002 following the merger of the Medical Academy and the Military Medical Academy this is one of the largest medical universities in Poland. It has been offering medical teaching in English since 2004. ?odz is situated right in the centre of the country about 136 km south-east of the capital Warsaw. This former industrial centre boasts the longest pedestrian street in Poland- 4.2km- with a hotch potch of styles from neoclassical and art nouveau to modern. Street art brightens up the post-industrial landscape – the Manufaktura Complex is a culture and Arts centre. There is a small international airport and road and rail links are good.
