MacEwan University

Overview

Founded in 1971 this undergraduate institution offers a small number of Baccalaureate (Bachelor) courses in addition to diplomas and certificates. Music is taught at the Alberta College site where there is a degree in Music in Jazz and Contemporary Pop Music. The university is situated in the large modern city of Edmonton, the capital of Alberta province in the West of Canada, which is very cold for much of the year and offers outdoor sporting activities for example skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. It is known as Canada’s Festival City because it hosts so many and such a variety of festivals throughout the year. The Elk Island National Park, which boasts the highest density of wild hoofed animals in the world outside the Serengeti, is just 49km from the city. Edmonton has an international airport and very good road links.
