Founded in 1992 Laurea has six campuses in the Helsinki area. It offers a number of Bachelor degrees including Nursing (for which students are required to have basic Finnish) at Tikkurila about 17km from the centre of the capital. Business Information Technology and Restaurant Entrepreneurship and more are at Espoo about 19.5km west of Helsinki. Helsinki is on a peninsula on the Gulf of Finland. It is home to the Parliament and national institutions and the ornate Uspenski Cathedral overlooks the harbour. The city boasts the most art nouveau buildings in Northern Europe. International air links are very good.
